These gluten free Chocolate Donuts are rich, sweet and downright irresistible! Can be made dairy free as well. Pair with a darn fine cup of coffee for a satisfying treat.

Donuts:

  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Butter or Dairy-Free Butter 1/4 cup
  • Egg 1
  • Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour 3/4 cup
  • Dutch-Processed Cocoa Powder 1/4 cup
  • Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  • Milk or Dairy-Free Milk 1/2 cup

Glaze:

  • Powdered Sugar 1 1/2 cups
  • Dutch-Processed Cocoa Powder 1/4 cup
  • Milk or Dairy-Free Milk 4 tablespoons
  • Sprinkles (Optional) To taste

Bake Mode

Prevent your screen from going dark as you follow along.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a donut pan with oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add in egg and beat until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, nutmeg and salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients and milk to butter-sugar mixture and mix until thoroughly combined.
  5. Add batter into prepared donut pans, filling each 3/4 full.
  6. Bake donuts for 15 minutes or until a toothpick check comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder and milk to a thick, pourable consistency. Dunk donuts in glaze and top with sprinkles.
